Y'all might want to say a prayer for me. I'm about to go at this chair with some wood glue.
If I mess this up, I won't be able to look Bob in the eye. (He's skilled with wood-working and is still willing to glue the thing for me.)
But thanks to my [foolish?] pride, I'd really like to do this whole thing myself.
I may regret it.

I should have read this post before the older ones! I think you can do it! As someone who doesn't have a man and does everything for herself, I fully support you. If you have to swallow -it- later and ask for help, he can't say you gave up!
The fun thing about getting a good deal on a piece of furniture is you can always paint over your mistakes...I have a whole house full of painted gargage sale furniture that I painted !! Good Luck!
