Because I know you're dying to know...

Here's an update on the chair.

This is what it looks like right now. (And what it's looked like for about a week.)

And here's the fabric I chose, pinned and ready to sew the first piece (the inside of the right arm). Of course, the trickiest piece comes first. (Dear Kate, thank you, thank you, thank you, for the tip about PrudentBaby's how-to's. I followed the instructions exactly for piping, and it worked beautifully!)

I got this fabric for $6/yard. Originally $24/yard.

That sound you hear is me, patting myself on the back.

Hi! I won the book too, and I just got through reading your comment on The Little House That Grew and had to come comment and introduce myself! :)

We have a four year old daughter who we had in our catholic church's preschool last year and just loved it, and had even signed her up for the 4 year old class this year, when I started feeling like God was wanting us to homeschool. I thought "you've got to be kidding, we love her preschool" but kept having that "nudge" feeling and so we prayed and discerned, and pulled her out and are homeschooling this year. Also, we are expecting our 2nd child at the beginning of April! I have the same worries- how are we going to do it? But I know this is what God wants for us. Anyway, sorry for the long comment! Just had to jump over and say hi!

Annie, I LOVE reading your chair updates. You're so funny. :) (And I'm jealous that you can sew... I think I have sewing-machine-phobia.)

Anyway, you have a lovely blog!

You're welcome! And OMG, didn't you fall in love with the Prudent Baby site? I'm itching to make tons of their projects.

I love the progress on the chair! I've been wanting to make a slipcover for a chair and ottoman for us, and I'm afraid that after spending money on non-refundable fabric, I'll ruin it! You're giving me inspiration, though. :-)

Guess your chair is safe for the moment. With my new acquisitions, I have no place to put it. But I won't tell Bob you are over time. I love the fabric you chose for the chair. It looks marvelous.
